About the event
I’m going to tell you two stories. The first story tells of a home occupied by six women, all at different chapters of their lives, and all commemorating those chapters with you, the audience. The home contains the nostalgic memories of early birthday parties, pre-teen sleepovers, housewarming tours, and fearful late night confessions of regret. They each wish for a time in their lives that is not their own. They wish to be “grown up”, to be “young again”, to be back at that perfect moment in life when everything is just right. The second story tells of a flock of birds, who reside in neighboring nests and fear the invisible predator in the shadows: a wolf. The birds stir up panic in one another, jumping at the slightest movement and chase each other in the dark. What these birds don’t know is they’ve already been devoured. They flail inside the belly of a giant wolf and slowly, they are digested the more they panic. Both stories exist simultaneously, with the same characters, and both are true. The women and the birds. The ticking clock and the wolf. Audiences are invited to join the immersive world of Nesting, celebrate the unstoppable trickle of time, and see the wolf’s belly all around them.
